San Diego's Ever-Expanding Mr. Moto Pizza House To Open New Location On Convoy Street In Kearny Mesa

November 16, 2022

Fresh off the opening of the company's 9th outpost in San Diego's Mission Valley, Mr. Moto Pizza House is already working on the launch of a new location on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa.

Mr. Moto Pizza was founded in Pacific Beach in 2015 by Gibran Fernandez - a San Diego native who started in the pizza business at the age of 23 working for La Jolla's Pizza On Pearl, which was owned by Gibran's Uncle Aram Baloyan - who also has ownership interests in The Taco Stand chain and La Jolla's Himitsu sushi restaurant. Mr. Moto Pizza House has since expanded with locations in North Park, Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Seaport Village, Encinitas, Little ItalyMission Valley, and the Arcadia area of Phoenix, AZ. The La Jolla location did not fare well and was rebranded back to Pizza On Pearl earlier this year. The Ocean Beach branch is currently listed for sale by Next Wave Commercial.

The newest Mr. Moto will open in early 2023 in the space previously occupied by Red Moon Noodle House Chinese restaurant within the small Convoy Street plaza that also houses RakiRaki, O'Brien's Pub, Crab Hub and The Taco Stand. Like other branches, Mr. Moto's new location will offer a menu centered around NYC-style pizza with inventive toppings, such as the Vodka Cream Pizza with vodka sauce, raspberry chipotle sauce, bacon and sour cream, or the Smoky Greens with fresh spinach, ricotta, garlic and sweet balsamic glaze. There will also be a beer & wine license at this branch. The company is also currently seeking a location to open the 11th restaurant in San Diego's East County city of La Mesa.

The 10th Mr. Moto Pizza House will open next year at 4646 Convoy Street, Suite 114, in San Diego's Kearny Mesa. For more information, visit mrmotopizza.com
