North Park Beer Company Opens New Tasting Room & Restaurant In San Diego's Bankers Hill

December 17, 2022

San Diego's 6-year-old North Park Beer Company has grown beyond its namesake neighborhood with the opening of the company's first satellite taproom & restaurant.

North Park Beer Company was first operated out of founder Kelsey McNair's garage before the full-scale brewery unveiled in mid-2016 on the craft-beer saturated University Avenue in the heart of San Diego's North Park. As a home brewer, McNair racked up prestigious awards with his Hop-Fu! IPA becoming the most award-winning home brew recipe in state history. Last September, North Park Beer's Art is Hard Hazy IPA won a silver medal at the prestigious Great American Beer Festival, but this year, the company brought home the illustrious Brewery of the Year award for brewing companies producing 2,001 to 5,000 barrels per year, in addition to being awarded a gold, silver and two bronze medals.

Today, North Park Brewing Company opened the doors to the company's first satellite tasting room on the base floor of Secoya by the Park, a mixed-use building on the corner of 5th Avenue and Redwood Street in Bankers Hill. The 2,750 square-foot tasting room and restaurant offers ample indoor and outdoor seating and sits just steps from Balboa Park. In addition to two dozen taps of North Park Beer craft brews, the space has an onsite kitchen with a menu of tavern fare like smash burgers, salads, Belgian-style fries and full entrees.

The new North Park Brewing Company tasting room is now open at 3067 Fifth Avenue in San Diego's Bankers Hill. For more information, visit northparkbeerco.com.
