San Diego's Newest Destination For Barbecue & Craft Beer To Launch New Country-Western Speakeasy Dubbed "Ladies Love Outlaws"

January 23, 2023

North County San Diego's recently opened Heritage Brewery & Barbecue is already gearing up to launch a new country-western bar dubbed Ladies Love Outlaws.

Chef Daniel Castillo opened Heritage Craft Barbecue & Brewing in San Juan Capistrano's Old Town in August 2020. Castillo had already developed a cult following by hauling his massive 1,000-gallon smoker around Orange County and popping up at area breweries. In its short existence, Heritage Barbecue garnered a stellar reputation for its Texas-style, slow-smoked barbecue, even being named by Orange County Register as the best restaurant in the county for 2022 and given Bib Gourmand honors by California's 2021 Michelin Guide. Earlier this month, Heritage Craft Barbecue & Brewing opened a new location in a nearly 10,000 square-foot, indoor/outdoor building in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside.

The Heritage BBQ team plans to repurpose a 600 square-foot space within their new Oceanside facility to open a distinct country-western-style bar speakeasy named Ladies Love Outlaws. Previously used as the vault of the former bank building, the space was last used by tenant Urge Gastropub to operate an onsite speakeasy called 101 Proof. Ladies Love Outlaws will be a "Honky Tonk" lounge serving up County-inspired cocktails, domestic beers, and country music playing from the speakers.

Ladies Love Outlaws is anticipated to open by this spring at 2002 South Coast Highway in San Diego's North County city of Oceanside. For more information, visit heritagecraftbbq.com.
