Minnesota-Based Nautical Bowls Superfoods Eatery Opening First San Diego Location

May 19, 2023

Want an açaí bowl with a side of Jesus love? Well Nautical Bowls is your spot. The fast-growing Minnesota-based company is opening its first California locations in San Diego.

Founded in Minnetonka, Minnesota in 2018 as a food truck by husband-and-wife Bryant and Rachel Amundson, Nautical Bowls is a healthy food chain that now has over 40 locations with more than a hundred additional branches in development. Franchisee Brian Gibbs will open the first of at least three San Diego outposts in the space that last housed Afters Ice Cream on Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach.

"It's been a dream to create something from the ground up together, keep Jesus & family at the center — and make an impact on others along the way," reads Nautical Bowls' website. "The Lord has led every step of the journey at Nautical Bowls and with our arms wide open, we are excited to see what He is going to continue to do with it! We will continue to lead Nautical Bowls with joyful passion the Lord has given us!"

Nautical Bowls offers a menu of superfoods bowls made with all-natural and organic ingredients like açaí, blue majik, spirulina, pitaya, and a vast selection of toppings. Bowls are gluten-free, dairy-free, plant-based, soy-free and contain no refined sugars. The eatery will have a nautical theme.

Nautical Bowls is anticipated to open in early July at 855 Garnet Avenue in San Diego's Pacific Beach. For more information, visit nauticalbowls.com.
