Toasted Gastrobrunch To Replace Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza In San Diego's La Mesa

July 22, 2023

The veteran restaurateur behind Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza is rebranding his La Mesa restaurant to become a new branch of Toasted Gastrobrunch.

Veteran restaurateur Sami Ladecki began his restaurant empire in 1989 with the opening of his first Sammy's Woodfired Pizza in downtown La Jolla. The company will soon rebrand the 15-year-old Sammy's location off Fletcher Parkway near the Grossmont Trolley Station in La Mesa to become a branch of his brunch-focused Toasted restaurant. This will be the third outpost of Toasted Gastrobrunch, with other locations sited in Las Vegas and Oceanside, CA. A similar concept dubbed Toast Gastrobrunch was once sited in Carlsbad but closed last October

Sammy's Woodfired Pizza's La Mesa location will soon shutter and undergo a remodel to change the space to a farm-style design. Once reopened later this year, Toasted Gastrobrunch will serve brunch fare daily, offering a menu of eclectic-topped toasts, pancakes, Benedicts, sandwiches, breakfast burritos, and unique egg dishes like smoked beef brisket hash with sunny side-ups. The restaurant will also have a full bar with craft cocktails, mimosas, wine and beer.

Toasted Gastrobrunch is expected to open by late summer/early fall 8555 Fletcher Parkway, Suite 104, in San Diego's La Mesa. For more information, visit toastedgastrobrunch.com.
