Go Go Amigo Ends Run In San Diego's Liberty Station After Less Than Two Years

January 17, 2024

After less than two years in business, San Diego's Good Time Design hospitality (The Blind Burro, Moonshine Flats) has shuttered its Go Go Amigo modern Mexican cantina in Liberty Station.

Founded in 2006 by local businessman and hospitality entrepreneur Ty Hauter, Good Time Design started with the openings of The Double Deuce, The Tipsy Crow and the original Whiskey Girl, which have since all been sold. The hospitality company currently operates more than a dozen venues located in San Diego, CA and Nashville, TN, including Happy Does, Patrick's Gaslamp Pub, Moonshine Flats, Moonshine Beach, The Blind Burro, Lucky's Lunch Counter, and The Presley, which is located next door to Go Go Amigo.

Being Good Time Design lost its 5-year lease operating the historic Loma Club in Point Loma in December 2019, the company decided in early 2020 to take over the space that previously housed Fireside By The Patio, which was forced to shutter in late September 2019 following an SEC complaint alleging $300 million fraud against the company's founder Gina Champion-Cain. After opening The Presley in the former Fireside space in 2020, Good Time Design doubled down in Liberty Station by taking over the 8,800 square-foot neighboring unit that last housed the public relations-fueled dud El Jardin. Go Go Amigo opened in early March 2022.

Go Go Amigo has now closed and the company is business is listed for sale for $99,000 by local commercial real estate brokerage firm Location Matters. We reached out to company founder Ty Hauter for comment but did not receive a response by the time of publishing. .

Go Go Amigo was located at 2885 Perry Road within the Liberty Station compound in San Diego's Point Loma. For more information, visit gogoamigosd.com.
