Sipz Vegetarian Kitchen Ending Decade-Long Run In San Diego's North Park

June 19, 2024

Sipz Vegetarian Kitchen will soon end its run in San Diego's North Park after more than a decade in business.

First founded in 2006 in San Diego's Claremont neighborhood by owners Huynh and Sylvia Le, Sipz eventually opened its North Park location in 2011. The company then expanded with since-shuttered branches in Kearny Mesa and La Jolla. Since its inception, the chain has been devoted to providing healthy, vegetarian and vegan versions of classic Asian fusion dishes.

The Sipz restaurant in North Park is in the process of being taken over by Stuart Schaffer and William Sutjiadi, who opened Salt & Butter bakery in Miramar in 2022. Salt & Butter is a spinoff of Japanese brand Okayama Kobo, which has more than 200 locations. It is unclear if new tenants plan to open a second location of Salt & Butter in the longtime Sipz space.

There is no word on when exactly Sipz will be closing its restaurant at 3914 30th Street in San Diego's North Park. For more information, visit sipz.com
