Los Angeles-Based Comfort Food Chain Lemonade Ends Run In San Diego's Hillcrest

August 24, 2024

After nine years in business, Los Angeles-based comfort food chain Lemonade has closed the doors to its location in San Diego's Hillcrest community.

Lemonade is a modern fast-casual restaurant chain that was founded in Los Angeles in 2008 by Chef Alan Jackson and Ian Olsen. The concept behind Lemonade was to offer a fresh, seasonal, and healthy dining experience with a focus on vibrant, California-inspired comfort dishes. The menu features a wide variety of salads, bowls, sandwiches, and unique market sides, all served cafeteria-style, allowing customers to mix and match their choices.

In summer 2015, Lemonade opened two locations in San Diego, the first on bustling Fifth Avenue in the heart of Hillcrest, followed by a branch within Westfield UTC in La Jolla. The 2,500 square-foot Hillcrest location has now closed its doors, but the La Jolla branch is still in business.
