San Diego Restaurants Closures & Downgrades This Week (December 19 - 25) Due To County Health Department Inspections

This is the weekly list of San Diego County restaurants and food facilities that have faced temporary closures and downgraded status due to health inspections from December 19-25, 2025.

The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality performs thousands of inspections annually to ensure that food establishments adhere to necessary safety standards. When inspectors identify critical violations, they issue closure notices, mandating that businesses resolve the issues before they can reopen, as well as reduce the health grade of some establishments.

Below, we outline the recent week's closures and downgrades and the specific violation list for each as reported by the health inspectors.

Little Cakes Cupcake Kitchen (30 W Main St #180, Vista, CA 92083) - Ordered closed on December 19 for Food Safety Certification - Minor; Hot and Cold Water - Major; Food Storage - Out of Compliance; and Equipment, Utensils, Linens Storage and Use - Out of Compliance.

A Tea 7 (5416 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115-3620) - Ordered closed on December 19 for Food Safety Certification - Minor; Food Handler Training - Minor; Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Hot and Cold Water - Minor; Vermin - Major; Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance; and Permit - Out of Compliance. 

IB Thai Restaurant (1299 Imperial Beach Blvd, Imperial Beach, CA 91932-2915) - Ordered closed on December 22 for Vermin - Major

Francos Flapjack Family Restaurant (4164 Bonita Rd #4164, Bonita, CA 91902) - Ordered closed on December 23 for Food Handler Training - Minor; Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Food Contact Surfaces - Minor; Hot and Cold Water - Minor; Vermin - Major; Warewashing Facilities Maintained - Out of Compliance; Wiping Cloths - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance. 

Fresh Garden Market (4291 Market St, San Diego, CA 92102) - Ordered closed on December 23 for Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Food Contact Surfaces - Minor; Vermin - Major; Equipment, Utensils, Linens Storage and Use - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance. 

Besthibachi (744 Market St, San Diego, CA 92101) - Ordered closed on December 23 for No Violations found.

DOWNGRADES:

Little Frenchie (1166 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118) - Downgraded to a B grade with an 80 score on December 24 for Food Handler Training - Minor; Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Holding Temperatures - Major; Shellfish Tags - Major; Sewage disposal - Major; Food Storage - Out of Compliance; Nonfood Contact Surfaces Clean - Out of Compliance; Equipment and Utensil Storage, Use - Out of Compliance; Wiping Cloths - Out of Compliance Plumbing - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance.
