This is the weekly list of San Diego County restaurants and food facilities that have faced temporary closures and downgraded status due to health inspections from July 17 - July 23, 2026.

The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality performs thousands of inspections annually to ensure that food establishments adhere to necessary safety standards. When inspectors identify critical violations, they issue closure notices, mandating that businesses resolve the issues before they can reopen, as well as reduce the health grade of some establishments.

CLOSURES:

Patitto Catering #2 (1701 National Ave, San Diego, CA 92113) - Ordered closed on July 20 for Food Safety Certification - Minor; Hot and Cold Water - Minor; and Equipment, Utensils, Linens Storage and Use - Out of Compliance.

Korean Kitchen (509 Telegraph Canyon Rd, Chula Vista, CA 91910) - Ordered closed on July 21 for Vermin - Major; Warewashing Facilities Maintained - Out of Compliance; and Equipment, Utensils, Linens Storage and Use - Out of Compliance.

Sushi Kuchi (4637-4647 Convoy St, Suite 104, San Diego, CA 92111) - Ordered closed on July 21 for Proper Eating, Tasting, Drinking, or Tobacco Use - Minor; Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Holding Temperatures - Major; Hot and Cold Water - Minor; and Thermometers - Out of Compliance.

Thyme Together Dream for Change (4637-4673 Market St, San Diego, CA 92102) - Ordered closed upon reinspection on July 21 (originally closed on July 16) for Hot and Cold Water - Minor and Vermin - Major. 

Transit Bites (450 Euclid Ave, San Diego, CA 92114) - Ordered closed on July 22 for Food Safety Certification - Minor; Food Handler Training - Minor; Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Proper Reheating - Major; Food in Good Condition, Safe and Unadulterated - Minor; Vermin - Major; Person in Charge - Out of Compliance; Food Storage - Out of Compliance; Equipment and Utensil Storage, Use - Out of Compliance; and Toilet Facilities - Out of Compliance.

Yohed Coffee (4160 University Ave, San Diego, CA 92105) - Ordered closed on July 23 for Food Handler Training - Minor; Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Vermin - Major; Premises, Personal/Cleaning Items, Exclusion Measures - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance. 

DOWNGRADES:

The Butcher Shop Restaurant (5255 Kearny Villa Rd, San Diego, CA 92123) - Downgraded to a B grade with an 86 score on July 17 for Holding Temperatures - Major; Food Contact Surfaces - Major; Shellfish Tags - Major; Thawing Methods - Out of Compliance; Food Storage - Out of Compliance; Nonfood Contact Surfaces Clean - Out of Compliance; and Plumbing - Out of Compliance.
