San Diego Restaurants Closures & Downgrades This Week (June 26 - July 2) Due To County Health Department Inspections

A Better Buzz Coffee location, the area's last remaining Marie Callender's, a branch of a popular fried chicken chain, an East Village urban park venue, and two upscale Carlsbad hotel properties are among the San Diego County restaurants and food facilities that faced temporary closures or downgraded health inspection grades between June 26 and July 2, 2026. 

The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality performs thousands of inspections annually to ensure that food establishments adhere to necessary safety standards. When inspectors identify critical violations, they issue closure notices, mandating that businesses resolve the issues before they can reopen, as well as reduce the health grade of some establishments.
