Where Do We Go From Here?
June 1, 2020
What am I supposed to write about today? This site started when my partner and I first moved to San Diego as a means of self-motivation to explore the local food scene. It evolved into hospitality news and event promotion. Now, what do we talk about? We have reached a period in our collective history when it seems completely obtuse to write about anything other than the systemic injustices that have led to our nation's divide and the tumultuous situation we are now in. How do we make sense of it and where do we go from here?

La Mesa Leaders Were Wholly Complicit In Their City's Chaos
May 31, 2020
A week of protests and rioting following George Floyd's well-publicized murder in Minneapolis, MN, culminated in a fiery Saturday "Hell Night" around the United States. Leaders in San Diego's La Mesa were in a better position than most precincts to demonstrate apologetic sympathy, following an evidently wrongful arrest of a young man that went viral earlier in the week, yet they chose to do the opposite, escalating violence by firing tear gas and rubber bullets into crowds of protestors. Shame on La Mesa City & their police department. You are complicit in the damage that occurred in your community.

May 26, 2020
At today's press conference, California Governor Gavin Newson revealed that San Diego County will be permitted to move into Stage 3 reopening of the local economy, which allows for the opening of barber shops, salons, and other personal care services, as well as churches, so long as meaningful modifications are made to reduce the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus.

Did Actor John Krasinski Rip Off A San Diego Radio Personality Then Sell The Concept To CBS??
May 24, 2020
Longtime San Diego radio personality, Chris Cantore, posted his first positive news format video on March 26. He was wearing a suit and recorded himself reporting positive news from around the country. Three days later, The Office star John Krasinski did the same thing. With recent headlines that the "Quiet Place" frontman had agreed to sell his positive story broadcast "Some Good News" to CBS, we ask the question - did John Krasinski rip off a San Diego radio star or is this just coincidence?
How Should Restaurants & Businesses Approach Those Who Do Not Wear Face Coverings
May 23, 2020
Due to COVID-19 coronavirus precautions, in many areas of the country and here in San Diego, it is now mandatory to wear a facial covering when entering into public spaces, open businesses, or coming within 6-feet of a non-household member. As businesses begin to reopen, many are apprehensive about possible legal repercussions of denying entry to anyone refusing to wear a face mask. We break down the issue here and offer advice on best practices.

El Prez In Pacific Beach Is Trying To Ruin It For The Rest Of Us | San Diego County Shuts Down Restaurant Following Raucous Reopening
May 22, 2020
Restaurants around the city were permitted to open yesterday, as San Diego was given the green light to move further into Stage 2 of California's reopening plan. At least one local restaurant chose to forgo the mandates requiring facial coverings and social distancing, instead throwing an absolute rager. Hey El Prez Pacific Beach, please don't ruin it for the rest of us!
