Jinya Ramen Bar Celebrates Pacific Beach Opening With Month-Long 'Beachside Bowl & Brew' Special Beginning December 9

Jinya Pacific Beach's spicy Beachside Bowl
November 28, 2015

From December 9 to January 9, JINYA Ramen Bar will feature a special promotion exclusive to the recently opened Pacific Beach restaurant, offering a combination pairing hearty ramen with a locally crafted beer. As the Los Angeles-based brand’s only San Diego location (until the Hillcrest location opens in 2016), the Pacific Beach JINYA team created a unique ramen bowl that embodies the active, ocean-centric community that can be paired with a Ballast Point Grunion Pale Ale for a delicious 'Beachside Bowl & Brew' combo.

The Beachside Bowl ($14) features an umami-rich chicken broth, grilled chicken leg, seasoned poached egg, crispy bean sprouts, green onion, spinach, nori, and a choice of thick or thin noodles. To highlight the vibrant local beer scene, the Pacific Beach restaurant is the only JINYA Ramen Bar location to feature a specially curated craft beer program, with nearly 50 local, domestic, and international beers available on-tap or by the bottle. Guests who order the “Beachside Bowl & Brew” combination ($18) will receive a refreshing pint of Ballast Point Grunion Pale Ale alongside their grilled chicken ramen.

Beyond the “Beachside Bowl & Brew” offering, guests may also enjoy any of the signature dishes that brought JINYA acclaim, including the 10-hour simmered broth and 3-day aged noodle recipes used for the ubiquitous JINYA Tonkotsu Black($10.80) with succulent pork chashu, fried onion, and garlic oil. Other JINYA favorites include the Cha Cha Cha ($13), a garlic-lovers’ delight; Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen($11) with vegetable broth, tofu, chili oil, and thick noodles; and the Brussels Sprouts Tempura with truffle oil. Additional selections from the extensive Pacific Beach beverage program include a JINYA Beer Sampler of four daily rotating craft beers; wine; and shôchû cocktails.

Founded in 2010 in Studio City, CA, JINYA Ramen Bar is considered a pioneer in the diverse Los Angeles ramen landscape. Drawing from its culinary roots in Japan and anchored by the signature black tonkotsu bowl, each JINYA restaurant uses CEO and Founder Tomonori Takahashi’s secret recipe for a 10-hour simmered broth and 3-day aged noodles to offer a menu of rich ramen soups and shareable tapas. There are currently 11 JINYA Ramen Bar locations in the United States and Canada, with plans for corporate and franchised expansion, including a location in Hillcrest to open in 2016. In addition to the ramen concepts, Takahashi is behind the popular Robata JINYA on West Third Street in Los Angeles (and also coming soon to Hillcrest, San Diego) and seven restaurants in Tokyo, Japan. The eldest son of a Japanese restaurateur, Takahashi opened his first restaurant, Sabakuro Ebisu, in 2000 before founding several “Izakaya”-style concepts around Tokyo.
