Now in its 4th year, Bikes & Beers returns to San Diego on Saturday, April 8, offering participants a fun and scenic ride around San Diego that finishes with a beer festival at The Point in Mission Bay. Last year’s Bikes & Beers event drew over 1,000 riders for a scenic morning cruise followed by a refreshing beer fest. Registration is currently $45 per person and includes access to either bike route, an event pint glass, snacks and water along the ride, two pints of great San Diego craft beer, a free raffle ticket for great prizes including 2 new bicycles, and access to the post-event festival with music, vendors and speakers. The event route is predominantly flat and relaxing with only a couple of hills. Any participant with a geared bike (and a required helmet) can have a great time on this course. There will be large signs at turns throughout the ride to help guide bikers, as well as people in the crowd for repairs and guidance. There will also be pit stops on the route for rest, snacks, water, etc. Additionally, much of the event utilizes bike paths to expose participants to existing bicycle infrastructure of which they may not be aware.
