The lastest culinary tenants to be announced include coal-fired, New Haven-style pizzeria URBN Pizza, and SusieCakes, an all-American bakery specializing in an array of sentimental desserts.
"Our roster of exciting tenants just continues to grow into the dynamic community we envisioned for One Paseo," said Nelson Ackerly, Senior Vice President of One Paseo developer Kilroy Realty. "We are thrilled to bring such a unique lineup of restaurants and retailers to the Del Mar Heights community and to future residents for years to come."
URBN Pizza and SusieCakes join a culinary lineup of much-anticipated eateries that include Joe & The Juice, The Butchery, North Italia, International Smoke, Tocaya Organica, Sweetfin Poké, Ways & Means Oyster House, Shake Shack, Parakeet Café, Tender Greens, CAVA, and Salt & Straw, which were announced earlier this year. Retail tenants coming to One Paseo include Van de Vort, West of Camden, Whiskey + Leather, and SoulCycle, with more to be announced.
The design of One Paseo will capture the look, feel and evocation of the 'country mart' concept, aiming to bring a comfortable sense of community with a live-work-play environment. Complete with open, public plazas that join 95,871 square feet of curated retail, 280,000 square feet of office, and 608 multi-family residential units in a 23-acre lot, the community will have authentic retailers, family-friendly spaces, open plazas for hanging out with friends, and well-rounded programming to include signature events, collaborative events with the community and non-profit partners, and seasonal and holiday events.

From owner Jon Mangini, who opened Connecticut-style pizzeria concept BASIC Bar/Pizza in San Diego's East Village in 2007, URBN Coal Fired Pizza first launched in Vista, CA, followed by a second URBN location in San Diego’s progressive North Park neighborhood. A third outpost opened in San Diego's College Area in 2014 with an onsite brewery, but brewing component has since ceased. Like the other branches, URBN at One Paseo will offer a menu centered around New Haven-style, thin-crust pies, with additional menu items and an extensive craft drink selection.
Also entering One Paseo is SusieCakes, a nostalgic bakery that offers an alternative to the artificial flavors and preservatives found at most grocery-store bakeries. SusieCakes offers a variety of desserts in a friendly, old-fashioned neighborhood experience. Specialties include frosted layer cakes in familiar flavors such as Southern Red Velvet, Six Layer Chocolate and Tropical Coconut. Rotating seasonal offerings feature crumble topped fruit pies baked in flaky crusts and holiday-inspired treats. A selection of traditional cookies and bars includes soft and chewy snickerdoodles, fudgy brownies, seven-layer bars and Susie’s famous whoopie pies. The brand is best known for its classic Vanilla Celebration Cake, custom decorated cakes and its cupcakes, which are filled with delicious frosting, resulting in a moist, yummy cupcake bursting with flavor.
