North Park's Tamarindo Latin Kitchen + Bar Will Open Del Mar Plaza Location

May 22, 2019

The team behind North Park's Tamarindo Latin Kitchen + Bar will soon expand the concept to Del Mar Plaza, taking over 4,000 square-feet of ground-level space within the coveted complex.

Owned by Moose Restaurant Group - which currently owns and operates Fred Mexican Cafe locations in Old Town, Huntington Beach, Kihei HI and two Moose’s Pub & Cafés in Hawaii -  Tamarindo Latin Kitchen + Bar opened in summer 2017 within the 2,500 square-foot former Claire de Lune Coffee Lounge space in the heart of San Diego's North Park community. The full service bar and restaurant has become a neighborhood hotspot due to its expansive Latin-fusion menu and an agave-heavy bar program from San Diego native Mark Broadfood, who also developed the cocktail list for La Jolla's Galaxy Taco.

The Tamarindo team will soon begin installing a second location at 1555 Camino Del Mar in Del Mar Plaza within the space that last housed Smashburger plus an additional neighboring unit. The eatery will have a full patio and an expanded menu to feature more seafood dishes. Tamarindo Del Mar is not expected to open until mid-2020 and will operate for lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
