Babycakes Announces Return To San Diego's Hillcrest

June 27, 2019

After 10 years as a Hillcrest hotspot for delicious baked goods and Sunday Funday parties, Babycakes relocated last year to San Diego's Paradise Hills neighborhood, but the company will return to its home neighborhood for a limited time starting next month.

Founded by Christopher Stavros in 2007, Babycakes was previously located at 3766 Fifth Avenue in the heart of San Diego's Hillcrest community, which will soon become a second outpost of Bahn Thai. For the last year, Babycakes has been focusing on it’s expansion of their spacious bakery and sales office in the Paradise Hills area of San Diego at 2315 Reo Drive (just 20 minutes from Hillcrest) and maintaining it’s thriving Coffee House & Bake Shop in Imperial Beach at 875 Seacoast Drive.

On Monday July 8th, Babycakes returns to Hillcrest as they partner with Fiji Yogurt and open up a pop-up shop at 1010 University Avenue (Ralph’s/Trader Joes shopping center). The venture will not be permanent yet will fill the Babycakes void that has been lingering for the past couple of months until they can settle on a permanent space in the neighborhood. The location will offer cupcakes and cakes and allow the opportunity to sweeten the deal with Frozen Yogurt.
