A longtime San Diego restaurateur with ties to numerous Little Italy eateries, including popular Civico 1845, has taken over the North Park space last occupied by Il Postino and will open Siamo Napoli - a full-service Southern Italian-inspired bar and restaurant.
Flavio Piromallo has more than a decade of experience in San Diego's restaurant industry, including tenures at Little Italy's Buon Appetito, Sogno Di Vino, and currently serving as the front of the house manager at Civico 1845. Originally from Naples, Italy, Piromallo has secured the North Park space that housed Il Postino for nearly a decade and will convert it into Siamo Napoli, which translates to "We are Naples".
Siamo Napoli will serve a menu of Italian delicacies from the Southern Italy metropolis of Naples. Expect a focus on Neapolitan pizza, including the fried variety, as well as classic Neapolitan delicacies like pasta alla Genovese, friarelli Italian broccoli, Buffalo mozzarella, fried mozzarella en Carrozza, Cuoppo fried seafood served in a cone, and spaghetti alle Vongole, as well as a full bar with Italian and local beers, wines, cocktails and spirits.
Siamo Napoli is expected to open by year's end at 3959 30th Street, Suite 105, in San Diego's North Park community.
