Parakeet has been a cozy destination for friends and neighbors since launching in La Jolla in 2017. The health-inspired all-day eatery was founded by husband-and-wife Jonathan Goldwasser and Carol Roizen, who were also the owners of the San Diego-based Juice Crafters locations before rebranding them into Parakeet Juicery earlier this month. Parakeet Cafe is centered around a menu of handcrafted coffee drinks and healthy meals made with fresh, locally-sourced, organic ingredients. Parakeet Cafe also opened a branch within the ambitious One Paseo mixed-use development and has an outpost in the heart of San Diego's Little Italy.
Parakeet Cafe has installed within the Orange Avenue building that housed Cafe 1134 for 15 years until it closed this past June. The new restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a mezzanine dining area perched above the main dining room. Like other branches, there is a tropical design with neon-lit slogans on the wall. There is also a menu of beer and wine to compliment the eatery's Mexico-inspired healthy dishes like breakfast, soups, salads, toasts, burritos, burgers, and sandwiches.
Parakeet Cafe's fourth location is now open at 1134 Orange Avenue in Coronado. For more information, visit parakeetcafe.com.
