Farmer's Table Restaurant Changing Course In San Diego's Little Italy

March 15, 2025

After five years in business, San Diego-born farm-to-table restaurant Farmer's Table has ceased normal operations in Little Italy and will soon rebrand to become an Italian restaurant called Vincenzo Cucina & Lounge.

Farmer's Table is a restaurant concept from two established San Diego chefs and restaurateurs, Alberto Morreale and Vincenzo Loverso of San Diego Dining Group, who reportedly parted ways recently. San Diego Dining Group owns and operates a variety of restaurants around the county, including Greystone The Steakhouse, Osetra The Fishhouse, Osteria Panevino, Saltwater, Rusticucina, The Butcher's Cut, Breakfast & Bubbles, Allegro, Farmer's Table, InPasta, Zama, Truffle Neighborhood Cucina, and the recently opened Roman Wolves Cucina Romana. Other partners in some of San Diego Dining Group's establishments include Antonino Cusimano and Marco Provino.

The original Farmer's Table opened in La Mesa Village in 2017 and replicated in several neighborhoods around San Diego with one branch in Tijuana. The Little Italy location originally opened in 2018 within Little Italy's European-style town square Piazza della Famiglia.

With the Little Italy Food Hall and Graze By Sam restaurant both up for sale, there is a change of tides happening soon in Little Italy's open-air piazza. As such, Farmers Table is also switching it up. For the time being, the restaurant is only open during morning and afternoon hours but will close by month's end in order to undergo a complete rebrand to become an Italian restaurant named Vincenzo Cucina & Lounge, named after owner Vincenzo Loverso.

This is the second Farmer's Table location to change course within the past year. Last May, the branch in Clairemont Village in Bay Park closed after five years in business, and the 3,500 square-foot space was transformed into La Pastaia Cucina Italiana. The Little Italy location will become a similar concept to La Pastaia, offering Italian cuisine and a full bar.

San Diego Dining Group's yet-to-be named new Italian bar & restaurant is expected to unveil this spring at 550 West Date Street, Suite A, in San Diego's Little Italy. For more information, visit myfarmerstable.com.
