We all too frequently see announcements of coming restaurants that never come to fruition (Roosterfish for example), but in the interest of sharing information, it's better to reveal than conceal. The latest unconfirmed rumor sourced from social media is that the former site of Bella Roma Pizza and Restaurant, located at 5737 La Jolla Blvd. in Bird Rock/La Jolla, will soon be the location of Wheat & Water, which describes itself on its Facebook Page as "Stylishly urban design meets seaside neighborhood vibe...Wood-fired
pizza + charcuterie + #CraftBeer." We also see on its Instagram that it is planning quite the elaborate sour beer collection.
We're sad to report that one of our favorite beer bars and pizzerias, Ciro's Pizzeria & Beerhouse in Pacific Beach, will soon close and the location will transition to Crushed, which is rumored to be an all-day-brunch restaurant concept linked (to some extent) to PB's Bub's Dive Bar.

About SanDiegoVille
SanDiegoVille was created in 2010 to report about all the fun & delicious happenings taking place around America's Finest City and we quickly earned a reputation for being a news source for and by those that shun archaic journalistic practices in pursuit of reporting the real story. We are a different kind of news site with no desire to conform to antiquated ideas of how many believe journalism should be. We pound the pavement for our exclusive coverage instead of waiting for permission to break news from the fancy public relations firms that regularly spoon-feed mainstream media sources their story ideas, influencing journalists’ opinions with freebies and fanfare. SanDiegoVille reports fairly on the top entertainment happenings and small businesses doing it right, while not shying away from hard topics and questions you won’t read in local publications where editorial direction is ultimately steered by the sales department. We are a concerted threat to legacy media organizations, and proudly so.
