The Patio Group To Open Fireside By The Patio In Liberty Station This Summer

The Patio Group, a San Diego-based, neighborhood-focused, pet friendly and sustainable restaurant group, today announced its latest venture, Fireside by The Patio. Set to open in summer 2015, Fireside by The Patio will be located in the city’s historic Liberty Station and will occupy the former Naval Training Center’s firehouse, one of the first buildings constructed on the site more than 80 years ago. The new venue will feature a unique indoor/outdoor design that will accommodate more than 300 guests. It will also boast an indoor bar and unique hybrid counter service experience powered by tablets and restaurant staff, as well as two open display kitchens with custom wood-fired grills, smokers and ovens.

Fast-forward 13 years, new brewing techniques and hops exist to spark inspiration. Stone Co-founders Greg Koch and Steve Wagner decided it was time to utilize this new insight and reimagine Stone Ruination IPA. Beginning today, Stone Ruination Double IPA 2.0 will start arriving in 12-ounce six-packs, 22-ounce bottles and on draft at retail outlets, bars and restaurants in markets where Stone beers are sold.

Pacific Beach Bar & Grill Sold To Verant Group Partners

The sale of PB Bar & Grill has been finalized. Eric Lingenfelder and Mark Cirillo of the Verant Group and David Cohen (formerly of West Coast Tavern and co-owner of Uptown Tavern) purchased the building and the business. They have closed down the bar and restaurant and start an extensive remodel, hoping to reopen sometime this summer.
