Owners of North Park's The Air Conditioned Lounge have opened a new outdoor event space. Glampishere offers a retro-modern environment featuring an elevated bar, waterfall, firepits, multiple flat screen televisions, technology friendly communal tables, high speed WiFi, and outdoor presenters that make it the ideal destination for a business meeting, work retreat or private event.
Little Italy Food Hall To Open Within Incoming Piazza Della Famiglia

As Little Italy’s highly anticipated Piazza della Famiglia nears completion, we have the scoop that a new 4,685+ square-foot food hall will open as part of the European-inspired community gathering place. The Little Italy Food Hall will debut within the piazza this summer, and arriving with it will be six locally-driven food stations, a mobile outdoor chefs’ area featuring pop-up cooking demonstrations from names such as Sam the Cooking Guy, and a full bar program complete with local beers and craft cocktails.

A deal has been made for Chicago-based Tronc Inc. to sell the Los Angeles Times, San Diego's Union Tribune, Spanish-language Hoy Los Angeles and community newspapers to Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, a Los Angeles physician and a leading shareholder of Tronc, for $500 Million, making Soon-Shiong the fifth owner of San Diego's top newspaper in less than a decade.

Downtown San Diego's Don Chido restaurant closed last Thanksgiving, claiming that the business would be renovating its space for an early 2018 reboot. We now know that the prime Gaslamp unit will soon reopen under the same ownership as an entirely new concept called Volcano Rabbit, a Mexican eatery and lounge set to unveil on February 16.
