In addition to developing a new Mexican restaurant concept at the longtime Nati's Mexican space in Ocean Beach, San Diego-based hospitality company Social Syndicate (Wonderland Ocean Pub, The Local Pacific Beach, The Local, OB Surf Lodge, The Rabbit Hole and Bootlegger) will soon take over operations at Normal Heights' Rosie O'Grady's. The local restaurant group is also in the process of opening the 5,600 square-foot indoor and outdoor Monarch Ocean Pub atop Del Mar Plaza.
Social Syndicate has recently signed on to purchase and take over operations at Rosie O'Grady's. The Chicago-style bar will remain the same go-to neighborhood hotspot in Normal Heights, featuring live music and a wide beer selection. Rosie O’Grady’s Music Director, Jason Rammelsberg, will continue running the music program and booking live bands. The operating partners will be Jon Conklin and Matt Andersen, bringing young, fresh talent to the venue. Expect the food menu to be revised.
Social Syndicate is also in the process of bringing a new bar & restaurant concept to Del Mar Plaza, moving into the sprawling space that last housed Epazote. Construction for the 5,600 square-foot indoor and outdoor venue kicked-off in November 2018, with doors set to open late 2019. The project is part of Brixton Capital’s wider plans to revitalize the plaza and bring fresh concepts to the community.
"The idea behind the restoration is to refresh the plaza as well as providing the community with an approachable new restaurant and bar that is hip, casual, and has an upscale aesthetic with great food and views," said Marc Brutten, founder and Chairman of Brixton Capital, which purchased Del Mar Plaza in February 2017. "Working with Social Syndicate on this venture was a clear choice as its portfolio of restaurants is nothing short of that caliber."
Monarch Ocean Pub is expected to unveil as early as this fall. For more information about Social Syndicate and its concepts, visit socialsyndicate.com
