Now open in San Diego's Pacific Beach neighborhood is Riptides Bar & Grill, an 80's-inspired SoCal bungalow concept.
Riptides is the product of a new restaurant group, Thank You San Diego, which is comprised of partners Mark Slattery, Paul Lyons, Steve Pure and Seth Dominique, who collectively have over sixty years of experience in the bar and restaurant industry. Earlier this year, the team took over the Pacific Beach space that last housed Hideout Bar & Grill, and Sandbox Pizza & Wings before that, for the opening of a new bar & restaurant named Riptides.
Riptides Bar & Grill is a laid-back, neighborhood-oriented tavern, designed to capture the essence of 80's Southern California skater and surfer culture. With an added sports bar element and the inclusion of two brand-new pool tables, Riptides offers a diverse experience. During the day, the establishment provides a family-friendly atmosphere, featuring a kitchen that serves a variety of American cuisine, including fry baskets, wings, sandwiches, salads, burgers, plates, and a comprehensive kids' menu.
As the night unfolds, expect an array of exciting special events such as trivia nights, live music, DJ sets, and more. The bar menu boasts an impressive selection of tequila- and rum-based cocktails, including the timeless Havana mojito, a spicy margarita, and a communal punchbowl-style cocktail. Additionally, there's a fine assortment of draft beers and wines to choose from.
