San Diego Restaurants Closures & Downgrades This Week (September 4 - September 10) Due To County Health Department Inspections

One of San Diego County’s hottest new restaurants joins a popular North Park restaurant, a Carmel Valley sushi spot and a coastal pizza bar on this week’s list of 12 San Diego County restaurants and food facilities temporarily closed or downgraded following health inspections from September 4 - September 10, 2026. 


The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality performs thousands of inspections annually to ensure that food establishments adhere to necessary safety standards. When inspectors identify critical violations, they issue closure notices, mandating that businesses resolve the issues before they can reopen, as well as reduce the health grade of some establishments.

Between Us (4101 30th St, Suite A, San Diego, CA 92104) - Ordered closed on September 4 for Vermin - Major and Warewashing Facilities Maintained - Out of Compliance.

El Takotoro (163 Mace St, Chula Vista, CA 91911) - Ordered closed on September 4 for Commissary/MSU Operation - Out of Compliance

Moniker General Outpost (3140 University Ave 101, San Diego, CA 92104) - Ordered closed on September 8 for Hot and Cold Water - Major.

Chaunceys Pizza and Bar (221 N Highway 101, Solana Beach, CA 92075) - Ordered closed on September 8 for Food Safety Certification - Minor; Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Holding Temperatures - Major; Food in Good Condition, Safe and Unadulterated - Major; Food Contact Surfaces - Minor; Vermin - Major; Nonfood Contact Surfaces Clean - Out of Compliance; Equipment, Utensils, Linens Storage and Use - Out of Compliance; Premises, Personal/Cleaning Items, Exclusion Measures - Out of Compliance; and Floors, Walls, and Ceilings - Out of Compliance.

Great Happiness II (1445 03rd Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91911) - Ordered closed upon reinspection on September 10 for Vermin - Major. 

Fattes Pizza of Imperial Beach (876 Seacoast Dr, Imperial Beach, CA 91932) - Ordered closed on September 10 for Holding Temperatures - Minor; Food in Good Condition, Safe and Unadulterated - Major; Food Contact Surfaces - Minor; Vermin - Major; and Warewashing Facilities Maintained - Out of Compliance.

Hidden Beauty (265 3rd Ave, Chula Vista, CA 91910) - Ordered closed upon reinspection on September 10 for No Violations found. 

DOWNGRADES:

Night Hawk (1315 Orange Ave, Coronado, CA 92118) - Downgraded to a B grade with an 80 score on September 4 for Food Safety Certification - Minor; Food Handler Training - Minor; Proper Handwashing Facilities - Minor; Holding Temperatures - Major; Food in Good Condition, Safe and Unadulterated - Major Food Contact Surfaces - Major; and Shellfish Tags - Major.

Kamilas Breakfast and Lunch (5252 Balboa Ave, Suite #101CD, San Diego, CA 92117) - Downgraded to a B grade with an 87 score on September 8 for Holding Temperatures - Minor; Proper Cooling - Major; Proper Reheating - Major; Vermin - Minor; Thermometers - Out of Compliance.
