San Diego Restaurants Closures & Downgrades This Week (October 2 - October 8) Due To County Health Department Inspections

A popular Pacific Beach restaurant, a longtime La Mesa Mexican dining destination, a Little Italy Italian restaurant and bakery, a Carmel Valley brunch spot, and several North County and South Bay eateries are among the 22 San Diego County restaurants and food facilities temporarily closed or downgraded following health inspections from October 2 through October 8, 2026.  

The San Diego County Department of Environmental Health and Quality performs thousands of inspections annually to ensure that food establishments adhere to necessary safety standards. When inspectors identify critical violations, they issue closure notices, mandating that businesses resolve the issues before they can reopen, as well as reduce the health grade of some establishments.
