The Brewers Association, the not-for-profit trade group representing small and independent craft brewers across the United States, today released its annual lists of the top 50 craft and overall brewing companies in the U.S., based on beer sales, and four San Diego based breweries made the list. A good sign for craft - of the top 50 overall brewing companies, 43 were craft brewing companies.

Top Chef California contestant Chef Chad White is returning to San Diego next week and will be cooking at three events - Galaxy Taco's weekly Taco Tuesday, a Pizza Toss for Charity, and Feeding America San Diego's Pairings With A Purpose. After becoming one of San Diego and Baja's most talked about chefs, White moved back to his hometown of Spokane, WA last December and plans to open two restaurants.

Now The Patio Group has taken over the loft-like space previously occupied by Table No. 10 restaurant at 369 10th Avenue in San Diego's East Village for a yet-to-be named concept - The Patio in East Village, perhaps? The group has also purchased Surf Rider Pizza Cafe in Ocean Beach.

Barons Market Announces North Park Location Set To Open End Of 2016

The locally owned all-natural grocery store Barons Market has announced its seventh location in the heart of one of San Diego’s most artistic and vibrant neighborhoods - North Park. Formerly a Fresh & Easy, the location at 3231 E. University Avenue joins three other San Diego County stores in Point Loma, Rancho Bernardo and Alpine. This news comes on the heels of the grand opening of Barons’ sixth location in Murrieta earlier this year. According to Barons, the anticipated opening this winter marks the first time the market has opened two locations in one year.

100 Years Later Electriquettes Return To Balboa Park | Historic Electric Carts Now Available For Rent

Almost a century before the Prius, before the Smart Car, Electriquettes were all the rave! In 1915, San Diego's Balboa Park was the focus of much of the activity for the Panama-California Exposition and the star of the show that year were the Electriquettes - small wicker carts powered by electric motors - which visitors used to travel around the Prado. Tens of thousands of people from around the world came to the fair from 1915-1916 and rode around Balboa Park in one of Clyde Osborn’s Electriquettes, which have now returned and are available for rent.
