Bradrick "Coop" Cooper took to social media this afternoon to announce the impending closure of Da Chicken Coop, the fried chicken concept that opened in March 2016 next to his popular barbecue restaurant Coop's West Texas BBQ in Lemon Grove. Cooper stated that the space may be reopened in the coming months as a new concept, possibly a barbecue/Mexican fusion eatery.

Now known simply as Saska's, San Diego’s longest standing steakhouse features a fresh new design and menu centered on a bold strategy - to remain a staunchly traditional, unflinchingly classical steakhouse of yesteryear. The neighboring space, which previously housed Saska's sushi bar and rooftop lounge, will become the second location of Surf Rider Pizza Co., set to open in this summer.

The last time Metallica played in San Diego was a surprise show at Spreckels Theatre during Comic-Con 2013.

Whole Foods Market Inc. has lost more than half its value since 2013 as more food stores are catching up with the organic and natural foods trend, so the healthy supermarket chain has decided to close nine stores, including the location at Pacific Station in Encinitas, which opened in June 2011. The North County San Diego Whole Foods will close for business by February 22.
