Shelter Island’s iconic bayside property - Humphreys - today announced the appointment of Nicolas Bour to the position of executive chef of Humphreys Restaurant, Humphreys Backstage Live and Humphreys Half Moon Inn & Suites. The role of executive chef at Humphreys was previously held for 13 years by Paul Murphy, who is moving into a new role with US Foods. The silver-tongued toque was loved for his ability to juggle multiple roles, all with good humor and for his adaptation of modern global cuisine.

Beginning the week of August 24, Carnitas' will be operating a food truck serving its "slow food-inspired, pork-centric American cuisine" near the site of its upcoming walk-up café, which is currently under construction at 1004 North Harbor Drive. The food truck is expected to operate through January 2016, when the café is anticipated to open.

On August 11, as part of efforts to promote development to enhance San Diego’s position as a world-class destination, the Board of Port Commissioners will consider redevelopment proposals for a new tenant for the Anthony's Fish Grotto restaurant space on San Diego’s North Embarcadero. As of now, the two main contenders for the space are Sunroad Enterprises and The Brigantine Group, both who have submitted proposals that include numerous businesses. Anthony's Fish Grotto is not even in the running, although they also submitted a proposal.
