San Diego's prolific Cohn Restaurant Group is almost ready to open Park Social - an arcade, self-pour beer bar and restaurant along the same vein as La Mesa's Coin Haus and the recently unveiled Pacific Social in Carmel Valley.
Over the past 40 years, David and Lesley Cohn and their family have brought dining to a new level as the premier hospitality collective in San Diego & Southern California. Beginning with one small diner in 1981, Cohn Restaurant Group now owns and operates more than 25 restaurants with locations in San Diego, Long Beach and Maui. Venues include 333 Pacific, BO-beau kitchen + bar (Ocean Beach), BO-beau kitchen + caché (Hillcrest), BO-beau kitchen + garden (La Mesa), BO-beau kitchen + roof tap (Long Beach), Coaster Saloon, Coasterra, Coin Haus, Corvette Diner, Draft Republic (La Jolla + Carlsbad), Del’s Hideout, Gaslamp Strip Club, Indigo Grill, Island Prime, C Level Lounge, SEA180 Coastal Tavern, Tacos Libertad, Tea Pavilion, The Prado at Balboa Park, Vin de Syrah, Vintana wine + dine, ZIGZAG Pizza Pie, The Melting Pot Gaslamp, Pacific Social, Castaway Café and The Plantation House. Earlier this summer, CRG took over a few of The Patio Group's restaurants amidst allegations of a $300 million fraud against the company's owner, Gina Champion-Cain, and the Cohn's now operate The Patio on Lamont, Surf Rider restaurants in La Mesa and Ocean Beach and Saska’s in Mission Beach. Last month, the company shuttered Blue Point Coastal Cuisine after 24 years in San Diego's Gaslamp. The group is also working on the launch of the 25,000 square-foot space Draft Republic Brewing Company in La Mesa and partnering with Daniel Boulud protege Travis Swiward on the opening of Callie California-Mediterranean restaurant in the former Bottega Americano space in San Diego's East Village.
