In an unassuming stand-alone cedar sided building, set aback a bit from the bustle of Turquoise Street is a chic new addition to the quaint Baja La Jolla/North PB neighborhood, Table 926, where executive chef and owner Matt Richman has successfully created an exciting, new, and down to earth dining enclave, showcasing local Californian ingredients with Mediterranean and Latino flavors.   As PB residents, we are happy to welcome the upscale addition of table 926 to our bar-drenched locale and are eager to recommend it to visitors of our favorite San Diego beach community.

Puesto Mexican Street Food, La Jolla’s upscale fast casual eatery offering an authentic and healthier experience in Mexican street food, will complete a physical expansion into the adjacent building in late September 2012. This will create a pickup counter for Puesto’s new online and call-ahead order system, a separate entrance from the main dining area, and additional kitchen space. The 4th Annual San Diego Spirits Festival took over Downtown's Broadway Pier and showcased all things booze to a packed house of tipsy participants.  Live music, bartender showdowns, chef demonstrations, food trucks, photo ops, and plenty of spirit samples were offered on two beautiful San Diego days.  We drank, we saw, we missed Ron Jeremy!  Epic fail on our part, but there's always next year!

San Diego's very own Stone Brewing Co. has donated $86,373.61 to ReBuild Waterbury and $30,000 to Waterbury Good Neighbor Fund for efforts to restore Waterbury, Vermont, a community that was damaged by Tropical Storm Irene in 2011.  The proceeds are from the sale of the collaboration beer, The Alchemist / Ninkasi / Stone More Brown Than Black IPA, brewed in December 2011 with Ninkasi Brewing Company in Eugene, Ore. and The Alchemist Pub and Brewery in Waterbury.  The beer was sold in 17 states, including Vermont.
